For the second or third time I have again encountered the frustration and embarrassment of having one of my domains parked, and my site unavailable, even though the Domain reg bill was paid well in advance.. Your billing system has hiccups, and some how had failed to register my payment yet again. Surely a 2nd ‘final’ domain expiry warning could be implemented say one or two days before you park? Had this been the case I could have made billing aware of the system failure, and also precluded the embarassing situation where I have to explain to 60 or 70 of my active users that the hosting company has cocked up again. Hostgator is a great company, and I have made professional recommendations to E-Businesses that have taken up Hostgator packages. For them this event would represent a real cost, I’m lucky in that the site that went down is a hobbyist site and as such is not revenue generating.

Unlimited mailbox, again? “Unlimited” is catchy, attractive and lucrative BUT: 1. In long term, the mail server can be overloaded if one out of their email subscribers decided to go unlimited. 2. The total number of mailbox grows uncontrolled, taking up bandwidth can cause slow email download. 3. What is their fair usage policy? Better to have than not. It is simply over-promising and over-committing

Well – I have to post this because I am VERY HAPPY with the HG support team. I am a scaredy cat at moving things around in the directory……. so it was great that I got an expert to help me out! It is extra difficult for me as I am in Australia and the time differences make it a challenge for most things but with HG – the 24/7 support rocks! Yes – going through the tickets was a bit of cyber ping-pong messaging but once I got on to chat…. Mitchell was on to it and got it sorted in no time at all!! My Domain is now expired even Though the renewal fees are paid up. It is www.comodte.com . Your rep Thomas Z. tried to blame me by saying that I should have notified them that I paid my bill with the client care person assisting me. I did this with a Hostgator rep on the phone. How will I be compensated for my lost business. I cannot wait 24 hours when I have people phoning me about a site that is not suppose to be offline. This is horrible service Hostgator. Why is www.comodte.com down and the bills are paid

I don’t submit a support ticket unless one of my clients is really having a problem. The 3-4 hour response times I’ve experienced this week are really unacceptable (especially to my clients!). In the past, I would get an answer usually in no more than 1-2 hours, which was great. Today I got in line in chat to find out what the status of my ticket was, and was 54th in line. Are you planning to hire more support staff to accommodate the increased support requests?
